Drug intelligence / Profile preview
GX-BP1 + carboplatin + paclitaxel is an investigational combination regimen consisting of Genexine's first-in-class bioPROTAC candidate GX-BP1 and the standard chemotherapies carboplatin and paclitaxel. GX-BP1 is an mRNA-encoded fusion protein delivered via a lung-targeted lipid nanoparticle (LNP) system. It is designed to selectively degrade SOX2, a transcription factor associated with tumor progression, cancer stemness, and therapeutic resistance, via the ubiquitin-proteasome system. Carboplatin is a platinum-based DNA alkylating agent, and paclitaxel is a microtubule-stabilizing taxane. In preclinical models, the combination of GX-BP1 with carboplatin and paclitaxel demonstrated synergistic anti-tumor activity, achieving 87% to 96% tumor growth inhibition (TGI) and restoring sensitivity in chemotherapy-resistant models. The regimen is being developed for the treatment of solid tumors, particularly lung cancer (such as lung squamous cell carcinoma) with SOX2-driven resistance.
