Overview

H107e + CAF10b is a next-generation tuberculosis (TB) subunit vaccine candidate developed by Statens Serum Institut. It consists of the recombinant protein antigen H107e, which incorporates eight different Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb) antigens—including ESAT-6 repeated four times—formulated with the novel liposomal adjuvant CAF10b. The adjuvant is designed to induce strong Th1 and Th17 immune responses, enhancing T cell-mediated immunity against Mtb. The vaccine aims to complement or boost Bacillus Calmette–Guérin (BCG) vaccination by introducing new T cell specificities not targeted by BCG, and it can be co-administered with BCG for synergistic protection. The primary indication is prevention of TB disease in adolescents, adults, infants, people living with HIV, and both Mtb-infected and uninfected individuals. Administration is intramuscular[2][4][5][7].
