An investigational therapeutic cancer vaccine combination consisting of H1299 lung cancer cell lysate and the Montanide ISA-51 VG adjuvant. Developed by the National Cancer Institute (NCI), this vaccine is designed as an adjuvant therapy for patients with resected Stage IB-IIIA non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) who are PD-L1 negative. The H1299 cell lysate serves as the immunogenic component, providing a broad array of cancer-testis (CT) antigens to prime the immune system. Montanide ISA-51 VG, a water-in-oil emulsion adjuvant manufactured by Seppic, enhances the immune response by creating a depot effect at the injection site, allowing for the sustained release of antigens and the recruitment of antigen-presenting cells. The vaccine is administered subcutaneously with the goal of training the immune system to recognize and eliminate residual cancer cells to prevent disease recurrence.
