Drug intelligence / Profile preview
H5N1 antigen + AS03A is an investigational, egg-based, inactivated, monovalent split-virion influenza A (H5N1) vaccine adjuvanted with AS03A. AS03A is a full-dose formulation of the AS03 adjuvant system, which is an α-tocopherol-containing oil-in-water emulsion designed to enhance the immune response to the vaccine antigen. Developed and sponsored by the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA), this vaccine is intended for pandemic preparedness against avian influenza A (H5N1). The active component is the H5N1 influenza hemagglutinin (HA) antigen, which is being tested at various dose levels (3.75, 7.5, and 15 μg) to evaluate safety and immunogenicity in healthy adults.
