Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Euhib is a monovalent conjugate vaccine developed by Boryung Biopharma for the prevention of invasive infections caused by Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib), such as meningitis and pneumonia, in infants and children. The vaccine consists of the purified capsular polysaccharide polyribosylribitol phosphate (PRP) of Hib covalently bound to a tetanus toxoid carrier protein. This conjugation enhances the immune response by engaging T-cells, leading to higher antibody titers and the development of immunological memory in young children who typically respond poorly to pure polysaccharide antigens. It is administered via intramuscular injection and is approved for pediatric immunization schedules.
