The Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib) conjugate vaccine is a biologic preparation designed to prevent invasive diseases caused by *Haemophilus influenzae* type b, such as meningitis and pneumonia. The vaccine typically consists of the purified polyribosylribitol phosphate (PRP) capsular polysaccharide of Hib chemically conjugated to a carrier protein (such as tetanus toxoid, diphtheria toxoid, or *Neisseria meningitidis* outer membrane protein) to enhance immunogenicity, particularly in infants.
