Overview

This combination regimen consists of **hepatic arterial infusion chemotherapy (HAIC)**—a locoregional therapy that delivers chemotherapeutic agents such as oxaliplatin, 5-fluorouracil, and leucovorin directly into the hepatic artery—combined with **bevacizumab**, a monoclonal antibody targeting vascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGF-A), and **camrelizumab**, a monoclonal antibody targeting programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1). - **HAIC** increases local chemotherapeutic concentration in liver tumors while minimizing systemic side effects by infusing drugs directly into the hepatic artery[2][6][8]. - **Bevacizumab** inhibits angiogenesis by binding and neutralizing VEGF-A, thus preventing new tumor blood vessel formation and starving the tumor of nutrients[7]. - **Camrelizumab** is an immune checkpoint inhibitor that blocks PD-1 on T cells, enhancing immune system recognition and attack of cancer cells[7]. This triple-modality treatment is under investigation for advanced and unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), particularly in patients with macrovascular invasion or portal vein tumor thrombus[5]. Early-phase trials aim to evaluate safety, tolerability, and preliminary efficacy of this approach[5].
