Halobetasol + clobetasol is a topical combination of two ultra-high-potency corticosteroids, halobetasol propionate and clobetasol propionate, currently in development by Lyka Labs. This product utilizes a microemulsion cream formulation, a technology designed to enhance the solubility and dermal penetration of these highly lipophilic active ingredients. Both halobetasol and clobetasol function as glucocorticoid receptor agonists, exerting potent anti-inflammatory, immunosuppressive, and antipruritic effects by inhibiting the release of inflammatory mediators and suppressing the activity of various immune cells. The combination is intended for the treatment of severe inflammatory skin conditions, such as psoriasis and recalcitrant dermatitis, where high-potency topical therapy is required.
