halometasone + tretinoin

Kinnewer is a topical combination medication consisting of the potent group III corticosteroid halometasone (0.05%) and the retinoid tretinoin (0.05%). It is primarily utilized in China for the treatment of inflammatory and hyperkeratotic skin conditions, most notably palmoplantar pustulosis (PPP) and plaque psoriasis. The therapeutic efficacy of Kinnewer is derived from the synergistic action of its two active components: halometasone provides robust anti-inflammatory, anti-pruritic, and anti-exudative effects by activating glucocorticoid receptors, while tretinoin modulates epidermal cell turnover and keratinization by binding to retinoic acid receptors. This combination effectively addresses the scaling, erythema, and pustule formation characteristic of PPP. Clinical development and validation of this formulation have been significantly supported by research conducted at Ruijin Hospital, affiliated with Shanghai Jiaotong University.
