Overview

HBV-TCR-T (Beijing 302 Hospital) is an autologous T-cell receptor (TCR) engineered T-cell therapy designed to treat chronic hepatitis B (CHB) and HBV-related hepatocellular carcinoma (HBV-HCC). Developed by the Fifth Medical Center of the Chinese PLA General Hospital (formerly Beijing 302 Hospital), the therapy involves extracting a patient's own T cells and genetically modifying them via mRNA transfection to express TCRs specific for Hepatitis B virus (HBV) antigens. These engineered cells are then re-infused into the patient, where they recognize and eliminate HBV-infected hepatocytes and tumor cells. Clinical studies, such as NCT03899415, have evaluated this therapy in combination with nucleos(t)ide analogues to assess safety and efficacy in reducing viral load and targeting HBV-related malignancies.
