Overview
Healive + Havrix refers to a vaccination regimen involving the sequential administration of two different inactivated hepatitis A vaccines: Healive, developed by Sinovac Biotech, and Havrix, developed by GSK. This heterologous prime-boost approach was evaluated in a Phase 4 clinical trial (NCT01252680) to assess the immunogenicity and interchangeability of the two vaccines in healthy children. Healive is a preservative-free vaccine containing 250 U of inactivated hepatitis A virus antigen, while Havrix contains 720 ELISA units of the antigen and includes 2-phenoxyethanol as a preservative. Both vaccines utilize aluminum hydroxide as an adjuvant and are administered intramuscularly to prevent hepatitis A infection, a contagious liver disease.
