Drug intelligence / Profile preview
HemaMax + PD-1 inhibitor is a combination immunotherapy being developed by Libo Pharma for the treatment of various malignancies. HemaMax (also known as LIB-101) is a recombinant human interleukin-12 (IL-12) cytokine designed to stimulate the immune system by promoting the activation and maturation of T cells and natural killer (NK) cells. In this combination therapy, HemaMax is paired with a programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1) inhibitor, a monoclonal antibody that prevents the suppression of T-cell activity by blocking the PD-1/PD-L1 checkpoint. The synergistic mechanism of action involves IL-12-mediated T cell and dendritic cell crosstalk, licensed by interferon-gamma (IFN-γ), which enhances the antitumor immune response more effectively than either agent alone. The combination is currently in early-phase clinical trials for unspecified solid tumors and hematological cancers.
