This drug is a multi-ingredient bladder instillation (cocktail) used for the treatment of interstitial cystitis and bladder pain syndrome (IC/BPS). It consists of heparin sulphate (a glycosaminoglycan replenisher), lidocaine (a local anesthetic), sodium bicarbonate (an alkalinizing agent), and triamcinolone acetonide (a corticosteroid). The combination is designed to provide immediate pain relief via lidocaine, reduce inflammation via triamcinolone, and restore the protective bladder lining via heparin. It is administered directly into the bladder via a urinary catheter. Corewell Health East (formerly Beaumont Health) evaluated this specific formulation in a Phase 2 clinical trial comparing its efficacy against pelvic floor physical therapy.
