HepaSphere Microspheres + doxorubicin hydrochloride is a combination therapy used for transarterial chemoembolization (TACE) in liver cancer treatment. HepaSphere Microspheres are non-resorbable, permanent acrylic copolymer microspheres that can be loaded with doxorubicin hydrochloride through ionic and mechanical bonds. These microspheres expand up to four times their dry diameter when hydrated and can compress up to 80% in vessel lumens, providing excellent conformability and targeted drug delivery. The combination offers dual therapeutic action: physical embolization of tumor blood vessels and localized, sustained release of doxorubicin directly to the tumor site, resulting in lower systemic drug exposure and fewer side effects compared to conventional TACE.
