Overview

Bilive is a combined vaccine developed by Sinovac Biotech for the simultaneous prevention of hepatitis A and hepatitis B. It is formulated by mixing inactivated hepatitis A virus (the same component used in Sinovac's Healive vaccine) with recombinant hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg). The hepatitis A component is derived from the TZ8 strain, cultivated in human diploid cells and inactivated with formaldehyde. The hepatitis B component is a recombinant protein expressed in yeast (*Saccharomyces cerevisiae*). The vaccine is adsorbed onto aluminum hydroxide as an adjuvant. Bilive is primarily used in China and is designed to provide a more convenient immunization schedule by reducing the number of injections required to protect against both viral pathogens, particularly in infants and high-risk populations.
