Overview
The hepatitis A vaccine, live attenuated (H2 strain) is a viral vaccine used for the active prevention of hepatitis A virus (HAV) infection. It contains the H2 strain of HAV, which has been attenuated through serial passage in human diploid cells to reduce pathogenicity while maintaining high immunogenicity. Upon administration, the vaccine replicates limitedly in the host, mimicking a natural infection to stimulate a robust and long-lasting immune response, including the production of neutralizing antibodies. It is commonly supplied as a lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder for injection.
