Hepatitis a vaccine (inactivated, HM175 strain) is an **inactivated viral vaccine** developed by **GSK** and marketed as **Havrix** for active immunization against hepatitis A virus infection. The vaccine contains **formaldehyde-inactivated hepatitis A virus strain HM175** produced in **MRC-5 human diploid cells**, purified and adsorbed to an aluminum-based adjuvant, and is administered to induce protective anti-HAV antibody responses. It is indicated for prevention of hepatitis A disease in individuals **12 months of age and older**, with marketed pediatric and adult dose strengths, and clinical studies showed high seroconversion after the first dose and protective efficacy of about 95%.
