Drug intelligence / Profile preview
A live attenuated vaccine developed by the Changchun Institute of Biological Products for the prevention of hepatitis A virus (HAV) infection. It is produced using the LA-1 strain of HAV, which is propagated in 2BS human embryonic lung diploid cells. The vaccine is provided in a freeze-dried (lyophilized) format to ensure greater thermal stability compared to liquid formulations, making it suitable for use in diverse environmental conditions. It is administered as a single subcutaneous dose and has been a core component of the Chinese National Immunization Program since 2007, primarily targeting toddlers and children.
