A combination vaccine composed of **hepatitis B surface antigen** (HBsAg)—the primary immunogenic protein component of the hepatitis B virus—and **Advax-2**, an adjuvant based on delta inulin polysaccharide. Advax-2 enhances and accelerates the humoral and cellular immune response to HBsAg, providing antigen dose sparing and improved seroprotection, especially in populations with historically lower vaccine responses such as individuals with chronic disease, renal impairment, or older adults. Compared with conventional alum-adjuvanted vaccines, Advax-2 increases anti-HBs antibody titers, broadens T-cell responses (Th1/Th2/Th17), and improves antibody affinity maturation, resulting in more robust and accelerated immunity. Advax-2 has been shown to be well tolerated in clinical studies and does not induce inflammasome activation. Its addition to hepatitis B vaccines is being developed as an advanced formulation to increase effectiveness, speed of protection, and coverage in low-responder populations[1][3][5].
