Overview
The **Hepatitis B vaccine (Advax-adjuvanted)** is an investigational vaccine formulation consisting of recombinant hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) combined with **Advax**, a novel delta inulin-based polysaccharide adjuvant derived from β-D-(2→1) polyfructofuranosyl-α-D-glucose. Developed to enhance immunogenicity over traditional alum-adjuvanted vaccines, particularly in low responders such as older adults or those with renal impairment or diabetes, it induces superior anti-HBs antibody titers, CD4+ and CD8+ T-cell responses, and Th1/Th2/Th17 cytokine production without requiring antigen adsorption. Advax accelerates antibody kinetics, boosts plasmablast generation and affinity maturation, and supports antigen-sparing doses, positioning it as a promising alternative for prophylactic HBV vaccination.[2][6][8]
