Drug intelligence / Profile preview
The hepatitis B vaccine used by Ausper Biopharma is an immunotherapeutic agent being evaluated as part of a combination therapy for the treatment of chronic hepatitis B (CHB). In the Phase II clinical trial NCT07069569 (AB-10-8007), the vaccine is administered in conjunction with AHB-137, an antisense oligonucleotide (ASO) that suppresses hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) expression and viral replication. The therapeutic rationale is that reducing the viral antigen load with AHB-137 may alleviate immune exhaustion, allowing the hepatitis B vaccine to effectively stimulate a host immune response (immune reactivation) to achieve a functional cure, characterized by sustained HBsAg loss and undetectable HBV DNA.
