Drug intelligence / Profile preview
A hepatitis B vaccine evaluated by Chiang Mai University for its immunogenic potential as a booster in HIV-infected adults. The vaccine is administered intramuscularly at a dose of 20 µg/ml. Clinical research conducted at Maharaj Nakorn Chiang Mai Hospital (NCT02441621) compared the efficacy of a single-dose booster versus a standard three-dose series (at 0, 1, and 6 months) in patients who were previously vaccinated but may have waning immunity due to HIV infection. The study aimed to determine the optimal vaccination strategy to maintain protective antibody levels in this immunocompromised population.
