Drug intelligence / Profile preview
A recombinant protein subunit vaccine produced in *Saccharomyces cerevisiae* yeast, containing the hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg). This vaccine is designed to provide active immunization against hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection. It was evaluated in a Phase 3 clinical trial (NCT01415024) conducted by the Jiangsu Province Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, which compared the safety and immunogenicity of 10µg/0.5ml and 5µg/0.5ml doses in infants and other age groups. The vaccine is typically administered via a three-dose intramuscular injection schedule at 0, 1, and 6 months to induce protective levels of anti-HBs antibodies.
