Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Hepatitis B vaccine recombinant is a vaccine used to prevent infection caused by all known subtypes of hepatitis B virus (HBV). It contains hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) produced by yeast cells into which the gene for HBsAg has been inserted. After administration, the vaccine stimulates the immune system to produce antibodies (anti-HBs) against the hepatitis B surface antigen, providing immunity against HBV infection.
