Hetrombopag + rosuvastatin is a combination of two small-molecule oral drugs: hetrombopag, a thrombopoietin receptor agonist for the treatment of thrombocytopenia (low platelet count), and rosuvastatin, an HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor (statin) used to lower cholesterol and reduce cardiovascular risk. While no fixed-dose or co-formulated drug product of these two agents is known to exist, concomitant administration has pharmacokinetic and clinical relevance. Thrombopoietin receptor agonists such as hetrombopag stimulate platelet production via agonism of the thrombopoietin receptor (MPL), whereas rosuvastatin lowers cholesterol by inhibiting HMG-CoA reductase, a critical enzyme in cholesterol biosynthesis. Both are administered orally. Coadministration can result in increased exposure to rosuvastatin (based on data for eltrombopag, a structurally and mechanistically similar thrombopoietin receptor agonist), due to inhibition of drug transporters involved in rosuvastatin disposition, suggesting a need for careful monitoring and possible dose adjustment if used together[1][2].
