Drug intelligence / Profile preview
HGXJT + Immune Checkpoint Inhibitor is an investigational combination therapy consisting of the traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) formula HuGuXiaoJiTang (HGXJT) and standard-of-care immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs), primarily PD-1 inhibitors. Developed by Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, HGXJT (also known as Bone-protecting and Mass-dispersesing Decoction) is an herbal formula designed to address bone metastases in cancer patients. The combination therapy is being evaluated for its ability to enhance the anti-tumor efficacy of ICIs while potentially mitigating bone-related complications and improving the safety profile in patients with advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). The ICI component typically involves monoclonal antibodies that target the PD-1/PD-L1 pathway to restore T-cell activity against malignant cells, while the herbal component is intended to provide synergistic immunomodulatory and bone-protective effects.
