Overview

HIV CTL MEP + RC529-SE is an investigational therapeutic vaccine candidate designed to elicit HIV-specific cytotoxic T lymphocyte (CTL) responses. The product consists of a combination of four hybrid T-helper-CTL multi-epitope peptides (MEPs), each containing multiple epitopes derived from the HIV env and gag proteins, formulated in an oil-in-water adjuvant known as RC529-SE. The vaccine aims to stimulate robust cellular immune responses against diverse regions of the virus by presenting multiple conserved epitopes to the immune system. It was developed for use in prime-boost regimens and evaluated for safety and immunogenicity in healthy, HIV-uninfected volunteers[1][3]. The adjuvant component, RC529-SE, is a synthetic analog of monophosphoryl lipid A designed to enhance immune activation.
