Overview

A synthetic peptide-based cancer vaccine composed of epitope peptides derived from the cancer-testis antigen URLC10, specifically designed to be presented by the human leukocyte antigen (HLA) class I molecule A*0201. The formulation is administered with an adjuvant (commonly Montanide ISA 51) to enhance immunogenicity. The vaccine aims to stimulate a cytotoxic T lymphocyte (CTL) response against tumor cells expressing the URLC10 antigen, thereby exerting antitumor effects. It has been investigated primarily in patients with advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) who are positive for HLA-A*0201 and whose disease is controlled after standard therapies[2][3][4]. Developed and studied by Shiga University, this therapeutic approach represents a form of personalized immunotherapy targeting specific tumor antigens.
