Overview

This is a combination immunotherapy consisting of synthetic peptides derived from glioma-associated antigens that are specifically presented by the human leukocyte antigen A*02 (HLA-A2) molecule, administered together with the immune adjuvant polyinosinic-polycytidylic acid stabilized with poly-L-lysine and carboxymethylcellulose (poly-ICLC). The peptide component is designed to elicit a cytotoxic T lymphocyte response against tumor cells expressing these antigens in patients who are HLA-A2 positive. Poly-ICLC acts as an immune modulator and adjuvant by mimicking viral double-stranded RNA, activating pattern recognition receptors such as Toll-like receptor 3 (TLR3) and melanoma differentiation-associated protein 5 (MDA5), leading to production of type I interferons, cytokines, chemokines, and enhanced infiltration of effector T cells into tumors. This combination aims to boost anti-tumor immunity in malignant gliomas or other cancers expressing relevant antigens[1][3][4].
