This is a combination therapy consisting of HLX22 (a monoclonal antibody targeting HER2), trastuzumab (a monoclonal antibody targeting HER2), oxaliplatin (a platinum-based chemotherapy drug), and capecitabine (an oral prodrug of 5-fluorouracil, an antimetabolite chemotherapeutic). This regimen is under investigation or use for cancers that overexpress the HER2 receptor, such as gastric and potentially colorectal cancers. HLX22 and trastuzumab both inhibit HER2 signaling, reducing proliferation in HER2-overexpressing tumor cells, while oxaliplatin induces DNA crosslinking to inhibit tumor cell replication, and capecitabine is converted to 5-FU in tumor tissue, inhibiting DNA synthesis in rapidly dividing cells. The combination aims to maximize antitumor effects through dual HER2 blockade and cytotoxic chemotherapy.
