Drug intelligence / Profile preview
A combination vaccine candidate composed of messenger RNA (mRNA) sequences encoding surface antigens from both human metapneumovirus (hMPV) and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), encapsulated in a lipid nanoparticle (LNP) formulation. The vaccine is designed to induce immunity against lower respiratory tract disease caused by either or both hMPV and RSV. The mechanism of action relies on translation of the mRNA into viral proteins (typically prefusion F proteins), eliciting neutralizing antibody and T cell immune responses. This combination vaccine is under investigation principally for use in adults aged 60 years and older, with study goals focusing on safety, immunogenicity, and dose selection[1][5].
