Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Ho Chai Kung Pain Relief & Fever Powder is an over-the-counter (OTC) analgesic and antipyretic medication developed and marketed by He Ji Gong. Although positioned within the traditional Chinese medicine market in Hong Kong and Southeast Asia, the formulation is primarily composed of Western active ingredients: paracetamol (acetaminophen), aspirin, and caffeine. It is indicated for the symptomatic relief of fever and headaches associated with the common cold and influenza, as well as various types of mild to moderate pain, including muscle aches, joint pain, toothaches, and menstrual cramps. The product, originally formulated in 1936, functions by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis through cyclooxygenase inhibition and utilizing caffeine as an adjuvant to enhance analgesic efficacy.
