Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) combination of two herbs—honeysuckle (jin yin hua, Lonicera japonica) and baizhi (fragrant angelica root, Angelica dahurica). Honeysuckle is renowned in TCM for its cooling and detoxifying properties; it clears “wind-heat” and “toxic heat,” making it useful for treating febrile diseases, sore throat, skin infections, respiratory tract disorders, and inflammatory conditions. It exhibits anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antiviral, antioxidant effects and supports immune function[1][3][5][6]. Baizhi is primarily used to open nasal passages and alleviate symptoms such as congestion from colds or allergies; it also relieves headaches and body aches. In TCM practice these herbs are often combined with others to enhance their effects on clearing heat/toxins while relieving upper respiratory symptoms[2][4]. The mechanism of action involves modulation of inflammation pathways as well as antimicrobial activity.
