Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This is a combination product used in clinical research settings that includes two components: - **House dust mite allergen extract** is an immunotherapy agent derived from the allergens of common household dust mites (Dermatophagoides farinae and Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus). It is used to induce immune tolerance and reduce symptoms of allergic rhinitis or asthma by gradually exposing the immune system to controlled amounts of the allergens. The mechanism involves modulation of IgE- and T-cell-mediated responses[1][2][3][4][5]. - **CYT003-QbG10-placebo** refers to a placebo formulation matching CYT003-QbG10. CYT003-QbG10 itself is a Toll-like receptor 9 (TLR9) agonist packaged in virus-like particles designed to shift immune response toward Th1-type immunity; however, as this arm uses placebo, it does not contain active TLR9 agonist[6][8][10]. This combination has been studied in clinical trials for allergic asthma or allergic rhinitis where one group receives active immunotherapy with house dust mite allergen extract while another receives a matching placebo for the investigational immunomodulator.
