HPV16 E7 peptide-pulsed autologous dendritic cells is an experimental cellular immunotherapy developed by National Taiwan University Hospital for the treatment of recurrent cervical cancer. The therapeutic process involves isolating a patient's peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) and differentiating them into dendritic cells (DCs) in vitro using cytokines such as GM-CSF and IL-4. These autologous DCs are then pulsed with synthetic peptides representing cytotoxic T lymphocyte (CTL) epitopes of the Human Papillomavirus (HPV) Type 16 E7 oncoprotein. Once administered via intralymphatic injection into the inguinal lymph nodes, these mature, antigen-loaded DCs are designed to prime and activate the patient's immune system to mount a targeted T-cell response against HPV16-positive malignant cells.
