Drug intelligence / Profile preview
The HSV mRNA vaccine is an investigational messenger RNA (mRNA) based vaccine being developed by RNACure Biopharma for the prevention or treatment of Herpes Simplex Virus (HSV) infections. Utilizing RNACure's proprietary mRNA platform, the vaccine is designed to encode specific HSV viral antigens. Upon administration, the mRNA is delivered into host cells where it is translated into viral proteins. these proteins are then presented to the immune system to elicit a robust and targeted immune response, including the production of neutralizing antibodies and the activation of T-cells. This approach aims to provide protective immunity against HSV-1 and/or HSV-2, potentially reducing the incidence of oral and genital herpes outbreaks and viral shedding.
