Hualan Inactivated Influenza Vaccine (Split Virion)

Hualan's Inactivated Influenza Vaccine (Split Virion) is a seasonal vaccine developed by Hualan Biological Engineering for the prevention of influenza caused by influenza A and B virus strains. The vaccine is produced using a split-virion process, where the influenza virus is inactivated and then chemically disrupted (split) using detergents to reduce reactogenicity while preserving the immunogenicity of the surface antigens. It contains purified hemagglutinin (HA) from the virus strains recommended annually by the World Health Organization (WHO). The vaccine is available in both trivalent (containing two A strains and one B strain) and quadrivalent (containing two A strains and two B strains) formulations. Clinical studies, including Phase 3 trials in subjects aged 6 months and older, have demonstrated that the vaccine effectively induces hemagglutination-inhibition (HI) antibodies, providing protective immunity against the circulating seasonal influenza viruses.
