This human bone marrow mesenchymal stem cell (hBMMSC) injection is a novel cell therapy developed by Jiuzhitang Maker (Beijing) Cell Technology Co., Ltd. for the treatment of autoimmune pulmonary alveolar proteinosis (aPAP). The product consists of cryopreserved stem cells derived from the bone marrow of healthy young adult donors, cultured under hypoxic conditions to mimic the physiological environment. In aPAP, a rare disease characterized by the accumulation of pulmonary surfactant due to GM-CSF autoantibodies and myeloid cell dysfunction, these hBMMSCs are intended to exert immunomodulatory effects and potentially restore alveolar macrophage function. It is currently being evaluated in a Phase IIa clinical trial in China, marking a pioneering effort in using stem cell therapy for this specific indication.
