Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Globucel SC is a subcutaneous formulation of human normal immunoglobulin (SCIg) developed and manufactured by Intas Pharmaceuticals. It is a highly purified preparation of immunoglobulin G (IgG) antibodies derived from pooled human plasma of healthy donors. Globucel SC is indicated as replacement therapy in patients with primary immunodeficiency diseases (PIDD) and secondary immunodeficiencies who have impaired antibody production, as well as for immunomodulation in autoimmune and inflammatory disorders such as chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (CIDP), idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP), Guillain-Barré syndrome, multifocal motor neuropathy, and Kawasaki disease. It works by providing passive immunity through the administration of pooled IgG antibodies, which neutralize pathogens and modulate immune responses by interacting with Fc receptors and the complement system.
