human prothrombin complex (CSL Limited)

Prothrombinex-VF is an Australian-produced, plasma-derived three-factor prothrombin complex concentrate (3F-PCC) manufactured by CSL Behring. It is derived from human plasma collected by Australian Red Cross Lifeblood and contains concentrated human coagulation factors II, IX, and X, along with low levels of antithrombin III and heparin sodium to reduce thrombotic risk. Prothrombinex-VF is indicated for the treatment and perioperative prophylaxis of bleeding in patients with acquired deficiency of prothrombin complex factors (such as those induced by vitamin K antagonists like warfarin) or congenital deficiencies of factors II, IX, or X when purified single-factor products are unavailable. It is administered intravenously as a reconstituted powder.
