This investigational multipeptide vaccine is a therapeutic cancer immunotherapy designed to treat glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) and other high-grade gliomas. The vaccine consists of a cocktail of synthetic peptides derived from three highly relevant tumor-associated antigens: human telomerase reverse transcriptase (hTERT), survivin (BIRC5), and cytomegalovirus (CMV) pp65. Telomerase and survivin are proteins associated with cell immortality and anti-apoptotic signaling that are nearly universally overexpressed in glioblastoma but absent or minimally expressed in healthy brain tissue. CMV antigens, particularly the pp65 protein, are also frequently detected within glioblastoma cells. By presenting these peptides to the immune system, the vaccine aims to induce a robust polyvalent T-cell response (including both CD4+ helper and CD8+ cytotoxic T cells) to recognize and eliminate malignant cells. It is typically administered subcutaneously in combination with adjuvants such as Montanide ISA-51 and GM-CSF to enhance its immunogenic potential.
