Overview

hUC-MSCs (Second Affiliated Hospital, School of Medicine, Zhejiang University) is an investigational cell therapy product consisting of human umbilical cord-derived mesenchymal stem cells. Developed by the Second Affiliated Hospital, School of Medicine, Zhejiang University and manufactured by S-Evans Biosciences, this therapy is being evaluated for the treatment of acute lung injury (ALI). The mesenchymal stem cells are believed to exert therapeutic effects through immunomodulatory and anti-inflammatory mechanisms, including the inhibition of pro-inflammatory cytokines and the modulation of immune cell responses to reduce lung inflammation and promote tissue repair. The therapy is administered via intravenous infusion and is currently being studied in prospective clinical trials to assess its safety and efficacy in patients with ALI.
