Shenzhen Beike Biotechnology's human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cell (hUC-MSC) therapy is an allogeneic cell-based product derived from Wharton's jelly. Developed for the treatment of moderate to severe, active, and refractory systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), the therapy utilizes the immunomodulatory properties of mesenchymal stem cells to restore immune homeostasis. The mechanism involves the rebalancing of immune cell populations, particularly the CD4+/CD8+ T cell ratio, and the suppression of inflammatory responses. Clinical studies, including Phase I/II trials, have evaluated the safety and efficacy of these cells when administered via intravenous injection, showing potential in reducing disease activity in patients who are non-responsive to conventional treatments.
