Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This investigational cell therapy, developed by Yantai Yuhuangding Hospital, utilizes human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells (UCMSCs) for the treatment of moderate to severe persistent allergic rhinitis. UCMSCs are characterized by their multilineage differentiation potential, high proliferative capacity, and low immunogenicity. The therapy functions through immunomodulatory mechanisms, secreting bioactive molecules that restore the Th1/Th2 immune balance and modulate inflammatory responses mediated by IgE antibodies and various immune cells. It is specifically being studied in patients with long-standing dust mite allergies who have failed conventional pharmacotherapy for more than two years.
