This investigational cell therapy is a combination of human umbilical cord-derived mesenchymal stem cells (huMSCs) and platelet-rich plasma (PRP), developed by Liaocheng People's Hospital for the treatment of stage 3 and 4 pressure injuries. The huMSCs are clinical-grade cells derived from Wharton's jelly and produced under Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) conditions. The treatment regimen involves intradermal injection of the huMSC-PRP mixture into the ulcer margins and bottom, followed by the topical application of an autologous PRP gel. The therapy works through multiple regenerative mechanisms, including the promotion of re-epithelialization, stimulation of angiogenesis, and enhancement of granulation tissue formation to accelerate the healing of deep pressure ulcers. The cells used in this therapy have been certified by the National Institutes for Food and Drug Control of China.
