Overview

huMNC2-CAR v2b (1XX modified) is a preclinical chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy developed by Minerva Biotechnologies. It is designed to target MUC1*, the cleaved, tumor-associated form of the MUC1 transmembrane protein, which is expressed on a wide variety of solid tumors. The '1XX' designation refers to a specific modification of the CD3-zeta signaling domain involving Tyrosine to Phenylalanine mutations. This modification is intended to calibrate T-cell signaling to reduce exhaustion and increase the persistence of the CAR T cells, potentially allowing for more effective recognition and killing of cancer cells, including those with low levels of antigen expression. The 'v2b' variant is part of Minerva's next-generation pipeline of CAR constructs optimized for treating MUC1*-positive solid tumors.
