This is a combination ophthalmic formulation containing hyaluronic acid, trehalose, and N-acetyl-aspartyl-glutamic acid (NAAGA). Hyaluronic acid acts as a lubricant and moisturizer for the ocular surface, helping to retain water and protect the corneal epithelium. Trehalose is a natural disaccharide with bioprotectant properties that stabilizes cell membranes and protects ocular surface cells from desiccation-induced damage. NAAGA is an anti-inflammatory agent that reduces ocular inflammation by inhibiting inflammatory mediators. The combination aims to provide enhanced hydration, lubrication, cellular protection, and anti-inflammatory effects for patients with moderate-to-severe dry eye disease (DED). Clinical studies suggest this triple-combination improves tear film stability, reduces symptoms of dryness and irritation, decreases inflammation markers on the ocular surface, and increases patient comfort compared to formulations without all three components[2][3].
