Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Hydrocortisone + cinchocaine is a combination topical medication containing hydrocortisone (a synthetic glucocorticoid corticosteroid) and cinchocaine hydrochloride (a local anesthetic). Hydrocortisone reduces inflammation, redness, and swelling by inhibiting the release of inflammatory mediators. Cinchocaine hydrochloride blocks sodium channels in nerve cells, preventing pain signal transmission and providing rapid, prolonged local anesthesia. The combination is primarily used for short-term treatment of hemorrhoids and anal fissures, providing relief from pain, itching, irritation, and swelling in the anorectal area. Available as both ointment and suppository formulations.
