Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This is a combination therapy consisting of three agents: - **Hydroxychloroquine** is an antimalarial and disease-modifying anti-rheumatic drug (DMARD) used for malaria, rheumatoid arthritis, and lupus erythematosus. It acts by interfering with lysosomal activity and antigen presentation in immune cells, reducing inflammation. - **Prednisone** is a synthetic glucocorticoid corticosteroid with potent anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive properties. It modulates gene expression to suppress pro-inflammatory cytokines. - **Vitamin D** refers to the group of fat-soluble secosteroids responsible for enhancing intestinal absorption of calcium, magnesium, and phosphate; it also has roles in immune modulation. This combination does not have a unique brand or code name as a fixed-dose product but may be prescribed together in clinical practice for autoimmune diseases or specific metabolic conditions. Each component has distinct mechanisms that may complement each other in certain inflammatory or autoimmune settings.
