Drug intelligence / Profile preview
A combination therapy consisting of hydroxychloroquine, sofosbuvir, and daclatasvir that was investigated for the treatment of moderate to severe COVID-19. Sofosbuvir is a nucleotide inhibitor of the viral RNA polymerase NS5B, daclatasvir is a viral NS5A inhibitor, and hydroxychloroquine was initially used as part of standard care for COVID-19 early in the pandemic. Clinical trials showed that adding sofosbuvir and daclatasvir to standard care (which included hydroxychloroquine) significantly reduced the duration of hospital stay compared to standard care alone.
